More real soon now.... AwareTek Podcasts Show Notes and Discussion Forum
Latest podcast is on the Philosophy of Ken Wilbur. Sorry for the delay between blog posts, I was having a few difficulties since upgrading to Tiger OSX 10.4. More soon... Announcing Python411, a New Series of Podcasts about Python, Coming Real Soon Now
I will also likely include a podcast or two about Firedrop and how to set it up and use it for blogging, podcasting, or as a content management tool. New Podcast and New Directions
Meanwhile, I have found Firedrop to be particularly good as a tool to help me manage my podcasts. I will post some details about this in the near future and also do a podcast or two about how to customize and use Firedrop2 for podcasting. These Firedrop audio tutorials will be in the Python411 series of podcasts. More real soon now... New Podcasts and other thoughts
I will post more soon, including an introduction to Python for non-programmers and newbies, as well as some other Python tips and information. I am thinking that Firedrop will also be great content management and publishing system for podcasters, as well as bloggers, and I am planning some tweaks and adjustments to the Firedrop software to customize it for managing podcast content. The First Ever Experimental Awaretek Podcast is Now Online
The first podcast, "Agora", talks about the objectives of this new series of podcasts, but it also was a chance for me to figure out how to use the tools involved in making a podcast. I used Apple's GarageBand program (which is incredibly powerful), and then iTunes. For hardware, I bought a $19.95 microphone from Radio Shack and plugged it into the input jack on the back of my 2.5 year old PowerMac dual 800 MHz. tower. If anyone wants to comment on my first podcast, or discuss it in any way, please use the newly re-instituted and de-spamified Discussion Forum. Please be gentle. Or, on second thought, fire away with all guns blazing ;-))) Podcasts, my new iPod, and yet more Podcasts ;-)))
It turns out that Python can be put to good use with an iPod. Check out this site where a Pythonista has coded some cool python scripts for the iPod that automatically download all the baseball scores and statistics each day from the major leagues and stores them in the iPod's contacts lists! It's interesting and fun, and think of the other possibilities. I hope to try some scripts of my own soon. Oh yeah, and I want to do my own podcasts soon, too ;-)))... Podcasts, iPods, and Podcasting
