The demise of Westbrook has come quickly. He was an unremarkable All-Star during the year of the 2019-20 NBA seasons with JamesHarden's Houston Rockets. But that kind of model for Westbrook is gone now. The flaws of Westbrook outweigh the strengths. Although he does put on the scoreboard (though even then , the numbers are decreasing), but he is likely to be better utilized in the near term as a spark plug off the bench in the face of opposing second units and not as a starter.

The media's view of Westbrook is far more positive than his actual night-in, night out contributions should reflect. I'm not the first person to say this, but it's reminiscent of the steep fall of Allen Iverson, who bristled at the thought of being off the bench , until he was out of the league entirely.There's still time to allow Russell Westbrook to avoid the similar fate, provided he's willing to take that risk.
