Birdsong

Birdsong is my favorite thing
I love them singing wing to wing,
A canopy from tree to tree
A musical cacophony.

The sun has dawned the day at last
Some worms and bugs will break their fast,
Their little lives won't last too long
And so they start their day with song.

A bird is simple, small and sweet
I love their tiny little feet,
They have their own community
Overheard by fools like me.

If humans never ever were
No consciousness, no poems to serve
As records of the birds above,
Their world would still be filled with love.

To put it all in simple words,
God did it right, he made the birds.
